Wireless Security Alarm

hi,
i have just entered the mine field of security cameras!! please can anyone give me some advise, i kind of know what i want from it but i dont know what system it is…i would like more than 1 camera and a system that all cameras record at the same time..something that records 24/7? or motion detected..dont really want to veiw it on my tv…only want to look at the recording if i have a problem…dont want large visable monitor, box and leads…wired or wireless? (i dont know what the pro’s and con’s are) …i would like to access it via my computer…i.e retrieve data (time and dated) and while on holiday…i have read about real time recording and split screen veiwing? …please, please can anyone suggest a system to suit or a website that can help which wont confuse me any more!!!

have some questions about wireless cameras. when running wireless can the other cameras function if the main usb cord or the dsl cord are removed. meaning if you just disconnect the usb will the other cameras on the system still work or does it matter?

My contract for the ADT home wireless system is ending soon thankfully. Their product works fine but their customer service is horrible and there’s no alarm response unless you pay hundreds extra. I’ve already called ADT Burnaby telling them not to renew.
IS THERE SOMETHING MORE I SHOULD DO to ensure ADT doesn’t send me another $460 bill for another year of monitoring?
ALSO and more importantly, I signed this contract after confirming that I would be able to buy this system once the contract expired or before. In small print, the contract says ADT retains ownership but last year I got a price of $599 (they told me to pay for it next year and the price will be lower) and this year, the employees are confused. They won’t answer the price question. They transfer me to faraway ADT centers that can’t help. I’m currently waiting for a call from the Escalation Desk. ???
HAS ANYONE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION BEFORE OR HAVE ADVICE? I don’t want the system removed from my walls.

Any advice on any low cost home security? wireless cameras, motion detectors (that my dogs won’t set off) etc (

I have a Canon 5D mark II. I realize the AGC is “limiting” (no pun intended). However, I don’t want a dual system and I want the best quality I can get. I’d also like to keep things minimal. So I want to know in this particular setup if a preamp will do me any good, or if I can just leave it out for now.
