PostHeaderIcon Effective ambient audio recording on digital vedio camera?

wireless camera system

Need recommendation: Which vedio camera has detachable/wireless collar mike recording system? I find unless you are very near; oncamera mike picks up weak audio specially during interviews session. We wish to make a testimonial promotional film of acceptable quality. I have a modest budget to acquire my equipment: camera, tripod, small light umbrella type and mirophone (collar type). Pretty confused. Please advice. I am from Mumbai India and a graphic artist at that. Just recently learn moviemaker in windows xp it is amazingly simple and a great software

You will have to purchase a camera to hook something like an Azden 100LT wireless lapel mic system into.
Also cosider a hand held digital recorder. You can place it near the person speaking and will pick up better than a camera mic, which will pick up a lot of white noise from the room. Then you just feed the sound into your editing system and match it with the video.
You may want to consider checking our your local public access channel. They should have a studio that you take some sort of orientation class, pay a small fee, and you would be able to use their equipment! You’d just have to make a 30 minute piece to play on public access. That way you can use their lighting/video/audio equipment!
    Hope this helps
