Wireless Security Alarm

have some questions about wireless cameras. when running wireless can the other cameras function if the main usb cord or the dsl cord are removed. meaning if you just disconnect the usb will the other cameras on the system still work or does it matter?

With DSL is it normal to have maybe 2000 inbound access attempts in 3-4 days with Zone Alarm Firewall on High? I recently put my Zone Alarm firewall on High and have 1950 intrusion blocked since last thursday when I put both securities on High and the firewall has blocked almost 2000 access attempts. I also put Zonealarm on my roommates laptop, she has Wireless and in the same amount of time shes had less than 200. What is the difference between DSL and wireless and is the the amount of attempts Im getting normal? Im just curious if theres a reason this might be.

Ok i have DSL…and the ip address changes everytime…It is also on wireless so i use 192.168.1.x! i have a security DVR and its IP is 198.162.1.X…how do i set up a Static IP address using netopia router? and when i do set up it …lets say im at home what IP do i type in webaddress to access the DVR login? please help me
